What Mistake Lazy Gardeners Make Before Planting Seeds: You Can't Expect a Decent Harvest

Many gardeners and vegetable growers, and not just many, but everyone, sometimes make annoying mistakes that negate their efforts to get a good harvest.

The reasons may be different – ignorance or one’s own laziness, but the result is always the same, and it is sad.

The whole point is that when, with the arrival of spring, we, deftly using our fingers or a small hand shovel, make holes in the ground intended for seeds, it seems to us that we provide them with enough space.

In fact, this is not quite true, or rather, not true at all.

The thing is that after a short time the soil dries out and becomes so hard that it can easily be confused with stone.

Because of this, the weak roots of young plants are unable to penetrate deep into the soil, and the plants become stunted.

How can this unfortunate oversight be corrected?

The answer is simple: before you start planting, make sure to dig up the beds and add plenty of compost and leaf mulch to the soil. This will make the soil loose enough for the roots to develop well.
