Smart use of space on the plot allows you to save on fertilizers.

Companion plantings are very helpful if the garden is small.

If the neighborhood is chosen well, the crops will delight you with an unprecedented harvest, and the summer resident will not have to do anything special for this.

For example, this rule works with watermelons. A good neighbor for them will be radish, which promotes healthy development of fruits.

Watermelons and radishes are placed in the same bed. The root crop protects the melon crop from bugs, improves the soil structure, and the greenery protects from winged pests and attracts beneficial insects.

A similar effect is achieved by combining watermelons with aromatic herbs. For example, coriander, thyme, anise, sage, basil, dill, arugula.

Summer residents plant these crops in early June. First, for example, basil, and a little later they sow a variety of radish intended for winter storage.
