The pest will not come into the garden if it smells an unpleasant odor.

Whitefly is one of those pests that causes a lot of trouble year after year.

If it has started in the garden, there is a serious danger to the apple harvest. In some cases, the pest only needs a few weeks to dash the gardener's hopes.

Experienced gardeners, having seen whitefly, do not rush to grab store-bought chemicals. They have a simple and cheap remedy in their arsenal.

Gardeners dissolve laundry soap in water and spray the resulting mixture on the tree's foliage. Butterflies cannot stand this smell, so they keep a decent distance from the apple tree.

To combat the pest, take a bar of soap, grate about a third of it and pour 10 liters of warm water over the shavings. Mix thoroughly and spray the apple trees.

The product will have to be used periodically to refresh the effect. The same should be done after rain.
