What weed can easily replace basil: don't pull it out when weeding

Many weeds contain large amounts of nutrients and have medicinal properties.

Instead of ruthlessly pulling them out while weeding and then throwing them away, use them as an addition to a salad, soup or sauce.

For example, chickweed, also known to gardeners as “chickweed,” is an excellent analogue of basil when it comes to making pesto sauce.

But that's not all - chickweed can also be added to salads and smoothies. Its taste can be called almost neutral, but it is quite moist, so don't be shy and put a lot of the herb on your plate.

It's even better if you mix chickweed with other greens when preparing dishes.

Woodlice are also great as a sandwich decoration - just place a sprig of the herb on top.

And this herb can easily replace spinach - for example, in soups, together with beet tops. Just add it no earlier than 5 minutes before it is ready.

Please note: the tastiest woodlice are young. The older the plant, the less tender its stems, leaves and flowers.
