Potatoes need to be saved from the Colorado potato beetle, tomatoes from late blight, strawberries from rot, and cabbage from caterpillars.

Every gardener knows these postulates. However, this is not an exhaustive list, and cultivated plants have many more enemies. In this article, we will talk about the cabbage harvest.

In the case of white cabbage, enemy number one is caterpillars.

No summer resident would want to voluntarily poison their harvest of healthy vegetables with dubious chemicals, so proven folk recipes are used.

It is necessary to follow basic rules of crop rotation, and also carefully select neighbors for vegetable crops.

But if pests attack, and sooner or later this will happen, you need to prepare a special solution.

How to proceed

Summer residents assure that this remedy is safe, effective and also inexpensive.

You will need:

  • 0.5 kg wood ash;
  • ½ bar of laundry soap;
  • water.

The soap needs to be grated and then dissolved together with the ash in a bucket of clean water.

Cover the solution and leave it to infuse in a room with room temperature for two days.

Once ready, the infusion needs to be filtered, poured into a sprayer or container with a spray bottle, and you can begin processing the cabbage.
