There is no need to tell knowledgeable gardeners about the structure of the raspberry root system - those who have planted at least one bush on their plot know firsthand how raspberries like to grow.
It gets to the point that raspberry shoots emerge every 2-3 meters.
To avoid this, gardeners have invented many ways to limit plant growth.
We will tell you about the three most effective of them today.
1. To begin with, you can try planting raspberries in high beds - the first year of the raspberry's life will go, as they say, without a hitch, while we won't talk about the plant's further behavior.
2. A much longer lasting effect is achieved by digging slate around the raspberries.
It is worth noting, however, that opinions differ regarding the depth of digging – some say that 50 cm is enough, while others prefer not to take risks and dig right down to a meter.
3. Finally, the simplest solution would be to plant raspberries near the fence – let the shoots grow on the other side of the fence.
However, it is possible that your neighbors will not like this idea.
