What kind of neighbors apricots can't stand: you can forget about the harvest

Many gardeners, especially inexperienced ones, believe that apricots do not need any special care: they say, plant it and forget about it, it will grow anyway.

However, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , this is not quite so, or rather, not at all so.

If you expect to get large harvests of sweet and juicy fruits, you should pay attention at least to the planting site, or more precisely, to the crops growing nearby.

So, an apricot will not bear fruit (at least not in the way we would like) if it grows next to a nut.

The list of undesirable neighbors for this tree also includes the cherry and sweet cherry trees, beloved by many summer residents.

And the peach, which is less common in our lands, is also among the apricot’s “dislikes”.

Thus, we come to the conclusion: apricots should be placed away from almost all stone fruits.

Suitable plants, with which apricots can grow more or less normally, are apple trees, pears, rowan trees, grapes and box elder.
