Plants for which eggshells are dangerous: many gardeners do not know about this

Many summer residents do not throw away eggshells, but collect and store them.

And they are right to do so, because the waste can be used in a country house.

Thus, with the help of the shell, you can protect the garden bed from gastropods - pests that pose a serious danger to many garden crops.

In addition, the hard shell of eggs can be used as food.

It is enough to crush this residue and add it to the soil or simply send it into the hole.

Eggshells are considered a good fertilizer for garden strawberries, cucumbers, beets, peas, squash, beans and many other plants.

However, not all representatives of the Flora “perceive” this feeding well.

Which plants should not be fed with eggshells

It's no secret that the hard shell of eggs is a source of calcium.

This element is certainly useful for many garden crops. However, the component affects the acidity of the soil.

Calcium can make the soil less acidic. This is dangerous for the following plants:

  • hydrangea;
  • carnation;
  • gooseberry;
  • cranberry;
  • rhododendron;
  • violet;
  • blueberry;
  • sorrel.

The shell is also not suitable for basil, although most other varieties of greens “react” to this type of feeding normally.
