According to them, mulching “green pets” not only benefits them, but also makes the care process easier for their owners.
Firstly, the soil will not compact, which is especially important for purchased compositions.
The soil will remain loose for a longer period of time, and the plant will be able to receive enough moisture and air, and, accordingly, nutrients.
Secondly, the depletion of the earth will occur much later.
And thirdly, flower pots with soil hidden under a layer of mulch look much more attractive than their “uncovered” counterparts.
Please note: if you use fine-grained material as mulch, its layer should be about 1 cm. If you use coarse material, the layer thickness can be increased to 1.5 cm.
