Summer residents' dream comes true: scientists have developed ideal apple varieties

Many summer residents face a number of problems when growing fruit trees.
Difficulties begin in the spring, when pests begin to operate in the garden, pathogens that cause dangerous diseases awaken, and the weather throws up unpleasant surprises.
Another rather urgent problem for summer residents is harvesting. It is not difficult for young gardeners to climb up, but for older people it is much more difficult.
American biologists have solved some of the pressing problems that both summer residents and farmers face.
New varieties
The yellow variety MD-TAP1 was obtained using materials from the GoldRush variety. The appearance and taste of the fruits of this tree are somewhat reminiscent of the well-known variety "Golden Delicious". The harvest ripens at the end of September.
The red variety MD-TAP2 is a descendant of the Fuji apple rootstock. The fruits ripen in October, according to the university's website .
What are the advantages of varieties?
MD-TAP1 and MD-TAP2 are low growing trees, making harvesting much easier.
The plants are resistant to fire blight, a dangerous disease that can destroy not just 1-2 trees, but an entire garden. In addition, the plants easily tolerate heat.
Scientists are currently conducting additional research. The next step will be licensing for commercial nurseries.
