Many gardeners dream not only of a large number of apples, but also of the incredible taste of these fruits.
No one will refuse apples, from which you can even make jam without sugar. To make your wish come true, you need to add one additional fertilizer.
To improve the taste of fruits, gardeners use fertilizers with boron. The desired effect is achieved: apples become sweeter, acquire a "honey" taste.
But summer residents sacrifice another important nuance. It will not be possible to store such a harvest for a long time.
The fruits are sweet, but loose and soft, so it is better to use them immediately, for example, for making jam or other treats.
It should be remembered that boric acid is toxic and dangerous for bees. In order not to ruin the gardener's real helpers, it is better to carry out the treatment in the evening, when there are no insects in the garden.
The fertilizer is applied strictly on the leaf. The solution is prepared according to the following recipe: 5 g of boric acid per 10 liters of water. The product can be dissolved in a small amount of water, and then the volume can be brought to 10 liters.
This solution can be used to spray other plants, not just apple trees. It will bring great benefits, but there are ways to improve the fertilizer.
Boron is an element that is better absorbed by plants in the form of an organic compound than in the form of boric acid. Therefore, there are several ways to increase the effectiveness of fertilizing.
1. When the acid dissolves in water, add 100 ml of glycerin. This will convert the boron into a specific organoboron compound.
2. To speed up the process of formation of the organic compound, summer residents add 1 tbsp. of vinegar (9%).
What does this give? The acidity increases, and with it the reaction speeds up.
3. To make the finished solution less acidic, add 2-3 tablespoons of ammonia. The result will be an ammonium compound of organoboron substances, which plants will easily absorb.
4. It is better to bring the volume up to 10 liters with water without chlorine. The solution can be used to treat almost all plants, but it is most beneficial for apple trees, strawberries and tomatoes.
