How to protect zucchini from rotting: after such treatment you won’t find a single rotten fruit
Quite often, summer residents are faced with such a problem as rot that affects the ovaries of zucchini and even small fruits.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, a scientist, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what measures experienced gardeners resort to in order to prevent the appearance of the scourge.
First of all, you should take care to protect the zucchini from bad weather.
In May-June, it is worth covering the plants at night, using agrofibre for this purpose, and to prevent moisture from getting on the flowers and ovaries, you can make canopies over the zucchini using film for this purpose.
In addition, it would not hurt to use such a clever trick as bricks placed on the bed.
During the day they will warm up in the sun, and at night they will serve as a kind of “heater” for the zucchini.
Well, the third important step is processing. To prevent rotting, the zucchini are sprayed with a solution of 10 liters of water and 3 drops of iodine.
A similar composition can be used for watering, but not more often than 1-2 times per season.
