The harvest of raspberries, currants, strawberries and many other crops depends on many factors, among which fertilizing stands out.

If you do everything right, the strawberries will grow large, sweet, juicy and aromatic. Even the vagaries of the weather in some cases will not affect.

Preparation

Spring care for strawberries does not begin with fertilizing. There are a number of important things that will increase the effectiveness of fertilizer.

What needs to be done on the strawberry bed before applying fertilizer:

  • remove last year's mulch, dried leaves and other debris;
  • remove weeds so that they do not take nutrition from the strawberries;
  • hill up the bushes if the roots are very exposed;
  • loosen the soil.

Only after this can you proceed to applying fertilizer.

Fertilizer for strawberries

Chicken manure, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:20, will ensure rapid growth of the bushes. The fertilizer is infused for 2 days, and then the strawberries are watered strictly under the root - 0.5 liters per adult plant.

Some summer residents replace chicken manure with ammonium nitrate - 1 tbsp. per 10 liters of water.
