Many gardeners complain that garlic does not grow well, blaming this on a lack of nutrients in the soil.

However, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , the reason may be hidden elsewhere - namely, in unsuitable neighbors in the garden bed.

If you want to get an excellent harvest of large garlic heads, try planting it next to greens.

Garlic and dill, parsley, cilantro and other herbs form an excellent pair - the vegetable protects the spices from diseases and pests, and itself, in turn, has more lush greenery, and therefore a larger bulb.

Potatoes will also be an excellent neighbor for garlic. The latter, again, will be protected from some insects, for example, the mole cricket.

Excellent results can also be achieved by planting garlic in the same bed with tomatoes.

Suitable neighbors include cucumbers and pumpkins, which garlic still successfully protects from numerous diseases.

Finally, you can plant garlic near currants and raspberries - these crops will help it form larger heads.
