How to propagate strawberries to preserve the characteristics of the variety: the right method

Perhaps any summer resident who is thinking about increasing his strawberry plantation will be interested in how to do this in order to preserve the varietal characteristics of the crop.

We will hasten to share just such a method, but we warn you right away: you will have to tinker a lot.

So, to begin with, you should mark in advance the mother bushes, which should be healthy and bear fruit well.

In spring, they should be treated against pests and diseases, fed with nitrogen, watered regularly and be sure to pick off all flower stalks.

The very first tendril must be rooted, since the first rosette on this tendril (the one closest to the mother plant) is the most valuable.

The remaining tendrils, as well as the flower stalks, are subject to removal. You can leave a maximum of the first two tendrils (of course, we are talking about one mother bush).

You can root it by pinning it (disposable forks will come in handy as never before) to the ground in the same bed. After that, dig up the young plant together with the clod of earth and transplant it to another place. You can leave it in the same bed.

Don't forget to feed the bushes with nitroammophoska during rooting.
