One of the important points is pruning. But when the sap is flowing in full swing, the tree can only be harmed, and then the harvest will only be a dream.
But what you really shouldn’t delay with at the end of April is fertilizing, if it hasn’t been done yet.
When to feed
The main reference point is not the date, but the daytime air temperature. You can start when the air warms up to 15-20 degrees during daylight hours.
It is important that the thermometer does not drop below 5-10 degrees Celsius at night.
What to feed
If the apple trees are mature and grass grows in the trunk circle, experienced gardeners recommend using liquid fertilizers, for example, a mullein solution.
It is more convenient to immediately prepare the fertilizer in a large barrel with a capacity of 100 liters.
An aqueous solution is made by pouring the main component with water in a ratio of 1:10.
One bucket of this composition is added under an adult tree, and it must be watered first, otherwise the roots can be burned.
In addition to mullein, you can use urea (30 g per 10 liters of water), ammonium nitrate (25 g per bucket of water) or chicken manure (diluted with water in a ratio of 1:13).
