A Clever Way to Plant Potatoes: Unprecedented Harvest from One Bush

Every gardener's dream is to harvest up to a bucket of potatoes from one bush. Only with a competent approach to planting is this a reality.

We will tell you about one technique, thanks to which you will have to water the plantings less often, and you can forget about hilling altogether.

While some summer residents are planning beds for traditional potato planting, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with a technique that is not the most popular.

Gardeners say that you can get a rich harvest without the usual fuss. You just have to stock up on straw.

How to proceed

This technique involves planting potatoes not in traditional furrows, but in holes. It is more convenient to make them with a shovel.

Having dug a suitable hole, you need to add a handful of ash before planting the potatoes, then sprinkle the seed tubers with soil.

When the entire bed is formed, it is covered with a layer of straw up to six centimeters thick.

The advantage of this method is that you don’t have to hill the plantings until harvest.

The next positive aspect is that the soil does not dry out and the beds will need to be watered less often.

And, of course, the obvious advantage is that thanks to straw mulch, there is almost no need to weed the potato bed.

With all this, the potato harvest from one bush will increase several times.
