Watermelon is one of the most famous melon crops. The pulp of the fruit has very bright taste qualities.

After eating a watermelon, there are a lot of seeds and rinds left. In most cases, these remains end up in the trash.

But a person needs to think carefully before getting rid of watermelon waste.

The thing is that the seeds can be eaten as a separate dish. However, they should be roasted and then shelled.

The rinds can also be useful. Especially if the person who ate the watermelon is the owner of a country plot.

The first option for using crusts

Watermelon scraps can be placed in a compost bin.

If the crusts become part of the compost, the organic fertilizer will become even more effective due to the appearance of an additional source of nutrients.

The second option for using crusts

They can simply be spread between the beds. In this case, the remains of the melon crop will act as "traps" for pests that often appear in the garden - slugs and snails.

If you leave the crusts in the evening, then in the morning hours the summer resident will be able to collect a considerable number of gastropods.
