What kind of fertilizer does a cherry tree need: depends on the age of the tree

Experienced gardeners know and are quick to share information – cherry tree feeding is largely determined by the age the tree has reached.

So, if the cherry tree is two to four years old, in the spring it needs urea or ammonium nitrate.

These compositions should be used for spraying in the tree trunk strip.

If your cherry orchard has already celebrated its fourth birthday, the dose of the nutrient solution should be increased.

After the snow melts, that is, in March-April, use 30 g of ammonium nitrate per one “square” of the tree trunk strip to feed the tree.

In May, it is allowed to use cow dung - to prepare fertilizer, dilute 2 liters of cow dung in a bucket of water and add 10 glasses of wood ash.

Finally, if the cherry tree is older than seven years, it is worth adding not one, but a couple of such buckets at once.

At the end of May, “treat” the trees with phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

For example, you can dilute a tablespoon of potassium sulfate in a bucket of water and use the nutrient liquid to water the trunk strip. Superphosphate will require about 30 g per plant.
