What fertilizers to apply when planting radishes: advice from knowledgeable gardeners

A decent harvest of radishes can only be collected if the plant receives enough nutrition.

Organic matter is suitable for feeding radishes - 5 kg of humus is needed for one square meter (can be replaced with compost).

Please note: fresh manure cannot be used - otherwise the radish will produce a lot of greenery, while the root crops will not set. Even if you manage to grow radishes, their fruits will be soft, loose and tasteless.

Another option for organic fertilizer is chicken manure (1 to 100).

Mineral fertilizers can also be used when planting radishes.

For example, you can add 10 g of ammonium nitrate (urea) and 40 g of double superphosphate to the beds.

Experienced gardeners also advise "dusting" the soil with ash. This should be done a few days after using organic or mineral fertilizers.

This way you will not only reduce the acidity of the soil, but also provide the crops growing here with phosphorus, calcium and potassium.
