Much more effective than fish bones: what experienced gardeners use to fertilize plants

Many gardeners have heard that all plants need phosphorus.

This element, together with nitrogen and potassium, ensures excellent harvests. That is why some gardeners use fish bones as fertilizer.

They are buried in beds or thrown into planting holes. It is believed that this way you can qualitatively feed the plants with phosphorus and collect a rich harvest.

More efficient fertilizer

Fish bones do contain phosphorus and provide some benefits to the garden.

But the catch is that they take a long time to decompose, i.e., in theory, the nutrients will be received by plants that will be planted much later.

Alternatively, fish bones can be buried under a tree or bush. And for, for example, tomatoes, which grow in the ground for about 5 months, it is better to use another fertilizer.

Bone meal is also a source of phosphorus, but it is absorbed by plants many times faster.
