A large colony of aphids can take away the lion's share of nutrients from currants, causing the leaves to wither and curl, and young shoots to grow crooked and develop poorly.

Experienced gardeners do not postpone the treatment of bushes from aphids for later. It is necessary to act during the swelling of the buds.

How to treat currants from aphids

The best time comes when the buds have swollen, but the leaves have not yet begun to bloom.

During this period, special preparations and folk remedies are used against aphids. Among the latter, for example, ammonia.

Insecticides are used against aphids, for example, "Alatar", "Fufanon", "Aktara", "Iskra". These products effectively affect pests, but they are used in spring or autumn.

During flowering, insecticides cannot be used. In summer, only folk remedies are used against aphids.

For example, tobacco infusion is quite helpful in the fight against aphids. The infusion is prepared from several packs of the cheapest cigarettes without a filter or butts. They are placed in water (1 l), and then boiled for 30 minutes.

After cooling, strain the solution, add a little liquid laundry soap, stir, then pour into a spray bottle and spray the plantings.
