Even those plants that are famous for their unpretentiousness need fertilization and replanting.

However, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , this is not enough for the growth and development of indoor flowers.

There is another mandatory procedure that caring gardeners carry out with their “green pets”.

It consists of removing a few centimeters of soil and adding new soil in its place.

This necessity is explained by the fact that over time, nutrients are washed out of the soil, and dust and other contaminants settle on top, which is fraught with the appearance of mold and fungi.

This operation should be performed every six months.

Using your hands or a small shovel, remove a small amount of old soil and add a thin layer of new soil.

When replacing the soil, you can also aerate the soil - this way you will be able to saturate it with oxygen.
