Fragrant lemon balm has a ton of beneficial properties: it is believed to be able to reduce fever, improve immunity and increase appetite.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what to do if you decide to get this plant.

Melissa can be grown in two ways: from seeds and from seedlings.

If you chose the first option, then you still have a lot of time: as a rule, lemon balm seeds are placed in the ground at the end of May, but it is possible even later.

In this case, the first shoots can be seen after a month.

For the seedling method, the seeds are sown at the end of March, and when the first leaves appear, the seedlings are thinned out.

Make sure that the distance between seedlings is approximately 3 centimeters.

When transplanting seedlings to a permanent location, do not place the plants too close to each other, leaving a gap of 40 cm between them, since lemon balm is famous for its love of space and does not tolerate shade.
