Moniliosis is a fungal disease that affects not only cherries, plums, apples, but also apricots.
Summer residents grow this crop less often, but the tree is gradually gaining popularity. However, some gardeners face a problem: the apricot "burns out" in a year due to moniliosis.
Monilial blight acts quickly and mercilessly. But there is another problem that is relevant for apricots – holey spot (clasterosporium).
First, the spotting occurs, then the tree is attacked by moniliosis, and then the clasterosporium blight becomes more severe, which destroys the tree.
Therefore, experienced gardeners advise taking a comprehensive approach: fighting both moniliosis and holey spot.
1. In spring, when the buds swell, the tree is treated with Bordeaux mixture (1%).
2. When the apricot blossoms, use "Horus" or "Silit". The treatment is carried out specifically on the flowers.
3. When flowering is complete, the fight against holey spot begins. The disease is activated on the leaves. To combat the disease, a broad-spectrum fungicide is used (Skor, Delan, Rayok, Topaz).
4. During the season, at least 2-3 treatments are carried out to protect the forming buds.
However, prevention is carried out every year. It is better not to postpone the start of work, but to start processing when the buds are just swelling.
