Even a novice gardener can harvest a good crop of large onions.
The first thing he has to do is to disinfect the seed material.
For this purpose, a saline solution prepared from a liter of water and a tablespoon of salt is suitable.
After being in such a solution, the bulbs should be rinsed in water, then soaked for 15 minutes in a weak solution of potassium permanganate and rinsed again.
Timely pest control also plays an important role – for example, it is worth protecting the beds from onion flies as soon as the first leaves appear.
This time you will need ammonia, 2 tablespoons of which should be dissolved in 10 liters of water.
A bucket of the resulting solution is enough for a two-square-meter area. Please note that the onion should be watered with clean water the next day after treatment.
Finally, after 2 weeks of using ammonia, it is worth returning to good old salt. Dissolve a tablespoon of white crystals in a liter of water and pour it over the onion from a watering can.
