What plants should not be planted next to cucumbers: there will be no harvest

Sometimes, a poor cucumber harvest is not due to pests or poor soil, but to the plants that grow nearby.

Even the scrupulousness of summer residents in matters of care does not affect the final result. Therefore, it is better not to plant cucumbers next to crops that suppress their development.

During their life processes, all plants release certain substances into the soil. They can be useful or harmful to both people and plants.

Experienced gardeners do not recommend planting potatoes, tomatoes and most aromatic herbs next to cucumbers. These crops have a negative effect on cucumbers. Plants next to them wither and bear fruit worse.

Cucumbers produce a good harvest when grown next to onions, garlic, peas, beans, spinach, eggplants, corn, and dill.

Next to such neighbors, cucumbers not only bear fruit well, but are also less likely to be attacked by pests and get sick less often.
