Gardeners do not always encounter overly acidic soil.
Sometimes the opposite situation is observed. Many plants do not like too alkaline soil, so the harvest is not the best.
1. To reduce pH, experts recommend using organics and acidic forms of fertilizers, such as sulfates. Their natural reaction will reduce pH to the desired level.
2. Acidic peat is added to the planting holes. It also lowers the pH level.
3. A similar result is achieved using colloidal sulfur. But in this case, proceed with caution, since you can come to the opposite result.
Experts recommend using litmus paper or a portable pH meter to calculate the exact amount of powdered sulfur needed to bring the level down to 7. Many plants will thrive at this level.
