It would seem that spring has only just begun, but the first month of spring is already coming to an end.

This time, according to experienced gardeners, is the best time to prune panicle hydrangeas.

Why is it worth picking up pruning shears at the end of March?

The answer is simple – this is the most favorable time for pruning, since the buds are dormant and the sap flow has not yet begun.

You know the saying, "Measure twice, cut once"? It's the same when it comes to pruning hydrangeas.

Before you begin the process of shortening the branches, you should first clean the bush.

To do this, everything weak, thin, old and growing inside the bush must be cut to zero. The same rule applies to last year's stumps.

The remaining shoots should have two buds left, and everything above should be cut off. This way you will get a beautiful frame, which will later turn into a lush bush covered with flowers.
