Cherry is the most popular stone fruit crop that can be seen in gardens.

But not all summer residents know how to properly plant seedlings of this crop, so that they can then harvest buckets of sweet and healthy fruits year after year.

Experienced gardeners recommend planting trees while they are still dormant, otherwise there is a risk that the natural development cycle will be disrupted. It should be taken into account that during the planting period, the temperature at night should not fall below 5 degrees Celsius.

On the day of planting, the weather should be calm and cloudy. It is best to do this in the morning or late evening.

You shouldn't plant cherry trees in lowlands or swamps.

It is important to pay attention to the condition of the soil. The ideal option is loam or sandy loam soil, light black soil. The soil should be loose and have a neutral acidity level.

The planting hole should be prepared in advance (a week or two).

When planting, it is recommended to fill the planting hole with a nutrient substrate. As a top dressing, you can take half or a glass of potassium sulfate, 400 grams of wood ash, a little bone meal or a glass of superphosphate, a bucket of humus or compost, and it is also advisable to add fertile soil to this mixture.

Once the soil is compacted, it should be moistened. You will have to pour about 2-3 buckets of water under one seedling.

Peat, humus or compost are suitable as mulch.
