The raspberry harvest has never caused any confusion in the gardener about its processing. This is exactly the berry that will find a use in any case.

Even if you don't have the strength to process raspberries, you can just eat them. And in order to have something to pick, you need to work hard in the raspberry patch in the spring.

Here are 5 important things to plan for early spring to care for your raspberry bushes.

1. Watering.

The superficial location of raspberry roots negatively affects the bush's endurance even in short-term drought. For normal development and abundant harvest, the bushes need to be watered so that the soil gets wet to a depth of 30-40 cm.

2. Fertilizers.

The fertilizers that summer residents apply to raspberries in the fall are usually enough to prepare the bushes for winter and spring flowering. In the spring, you need to add either organic matter (5-6 kg of humus per 1 sq. m, a solution of chicken manure - 1:20, a solution of mullein - 1:10) or mineral additives (superphosphate - 50-80 g per 1 sq. m, potassium sulfate - 20-40 g).

3. Mulching.

You can make the work much easier by mulching the soil under the bushes. Weeds will not grow as actively, which means there will be fewer pests. In addition, mulch retains moisture in the soil and protects against frost. Straw or peat are most often used.

4. Trimming.

It is carried out before the soil warms up. Usually, up to 15-20 strong shoots are left per linear meter after pruning.

5. Processing.

It is necessary to carry out preventive treatment against diseases and pests. This procedure is carried out after removing last year's mulch and pruning. 1% Bordeaux mixture, "Agrolekar", "Profi", "Chistoflor", "Abiga-Peak", "Topaz" and other preparations are used depending on the situation.
