But thrifty summer residents try not to spend extra money, so they do their housework economically. There is a myth that the covering material supposedly needs to be changed every year. In fact, this is not true.
It can be used for about 3 years, and in the fourth year the material "falls apart". Under the influence of the sun the material deteriorates, tears and stops performing its functions.
As for disinfection, many consider it a waste of time. Pathogenic flora will not appear in the garden bed if the covering material was stored in winter at sub-zero temperatures.
Microbes, insect eggs, fungal spores die in the cold. Thus, nature does all the work for summer residents in this case.
