Spring is considered the best time for preventing diseases and pests in the garden.
With the arrival of warm weather, not only plants wake up, but also pathogenic microflora and pests.
In autumn, it is more difficult to fight them, because before the cold weather, insects go into hibernation, and fungal spores and other infections become inactive.
The first preventive measure is carried out at a temperature of +4 °C. Insecticides are used for spraying. For example, "Profilaktin Light".
The preparation is made on the basis of mineral oil, which forms a film on the surface, due to which the pests suffocate and die, but there is no harm to the trees.
If "Profilaktin Light" is used, then 0.5 liters of the product is taken per 10 liters of water. This volume is enough on average for 2-3 adult trees.
The next preventive measure is carried out 10-14 days after pest control. Trees are sprayed with Bordeaux mixture. It protects plants from 25 infectious diseases of fungal and bacterial nature.
In early spring, when the growing season has not yet begun, prepare a 3% Bordeaux mixture: 300 g of copper sulfate, 400 g of lime per 10 liters of water.
During the growing season, the concentration is reduced. A 1% solution is prepared: 100 g of copper sulfate, 100 g of lime per 10 l of water.
