Why apricots do not bear fruit: the main reasons and what to do

More and more summer residents are showing by their own example that apricots can be grown not only in the south.
However, some gardeners often face a problem: the tree bears fruit. There are two main reasons why this happens.
Frosts
The main reason why summer residents are left without a harvest. Apricot is one of the first to bloom in the garden. But recurrent frosts can ruin everything.
A serious risk is when the temperature drops to -3 … -4 °C once or twice a week. In such conditions, the flowers become sterile and die.
No pollinator
The spring may be favorable, but the absence of a pollinator will still leave you without a harvest. Apricot has partially self-fertile varieties. But even in this case, a pollinator is needed to have a really good harvest. If there is none, there will be few fruits.
What to do
First, you need a pollinator. Plant a suitable variety. In addition, monitor the weather forecast and organize additional protection from frost, for example, smoke the plantings.
