After pruning the garden, summer residents most often burn the branches, using the ash as fertilizer.

The combustion product is useful for plants. However, there are other ways to use the cut shoots.

Tea from branches

Summer residents do not throw away branches of cherry, sea buckthorn, lemongrass, raspberry, apple, pear, and currant, but make tea from them.

The result is not only a tasty and aromatic drink that is superior to store-bought, but also healthy.

This tea strengthens the immune system and helps with colds; for example, a raspberry drink is used as an antipyretic.

Bouquet of branches

Summer residents put the cut branches in water. Over time, the dormant flower buds awaken and announce the approach of real spring.

The most spectacular branches are those of cherry, sweet cherry, and plum. But the buds on the branches of apple and pear trees take longer to open.

Once the shoots have finished flowering, they can be thrown into a compost pit or burned while making shashlik.
