If the bark is affected, the tree may die.
But there are a number of simple measures that will help save the garden.
To begin with, the bark should be cleaned, dead areas removed and treated with 3% copper sulfate.
To seal the damaged area, as experienced gardeners note, you need to use garden pitch. It is easy to prepare.
One recipe is to take clay and fresh mullein in a 1 to 1 ratio, then mix and apply to the damaged area.
There is another version of var.
To do this, take 500 grams of rosin, 10 grams of resin, 15 grams of lard and ash. Mix and melt the entire composition, and at the very end of preparation, you can pour in 80 ml of alcohol.
Some gardeners prefer to make a varnish from drying oil and ochre. They need to be mixed in a 2 to 1 ratio, and then the product can be applied to the bark using a brush.
