What to do if petunia seedlings have stretched out: we are working on mistakes

Of course, any problem, including seedling stretching, is easier to prevent than to work on correcting it.

However, not everything always works out the way we want, and petunia seedlings, despite all the efforts, can stretch out. What to do in such a situation - said the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

The only sure way to strengthen seedlings and prevent them from lodging is hilling.

Rake the soil into a pile right next to the bushes. Alternatively, add some new soil if space allows.

Petunias will grow lateral roots and become stronger due to them.

It is worth noting that this method works not only with petunias, but also with any other seedlings that have become too elongated and are in danger of falling.

Some gardeners in this case advise pinching - it is enough to remove the top of the stretched bush and put it in water, where it will begin to bush out and grow lateral shoots.

Important: this method can only be used for grown seedlings. This procedure will only harm young plants.
