There are a few rules to follow if you want to avoid the problem of seed stretching.

First of all, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , it is necessary to determine the optimal time that is suitable for sowing seeds.

If the seedlings overgrow, they will naturally stretch out, which will cause difficulties with their adaptation to the new location after transplanting into a greenhouse or open ground.

For example, in the case of tomatoes, 30 to 50 days must pass before planting in the ground; if we are talking about peppers and eggplants, then this period is 60-70 days.

In addition, the importance of lighting should not be ignored - if there is not enough light, the tops of the seedlings will rush upward.

Temperature also influences the elongation of young plants.

The lower the temperature in the room, the slower the seedlings grow upward, while at the same time becoming more compact and thicker.

Therefore, when growing seedlings, it should be taken into account that for their normal development it is necessary to ensure a temperature of +18 degrees.
