The Fatal Mistake of Those Who Throw Tea Bags in the Trash: Here's What to Do with the Tea Leaves

Perhaps there is a person who, every now and then, whiles away an evening with a cup of aromatic tea or starts the morning with this drink.

After the tea ceremony, the tea bag is usually thrown straight into the trash can.

However, some summer residents call such actions a “thoughtless miscalculation,” and here’s why.

It turns out that instead of throwing away tea leaves, they should be dried and collected, placing them in suitable containers.

The collected material can be used to add to a compost pit – it is believed that the acids contained in the bioadditive can have a beneficial effect on decomposition processes, as well as enrich the future fertilizer with elements necessary for the crops being grown.

The tea is also used to spread it on the bottom of holes when planting seedlings.

In this case, tea waste acts as drainage and then as food for plants.

Finally, tea leaves can serve as an excellent material for mulching garden beds.
