Why are more and more gardeners refusing to keep ficus at home: is it because of omens or something else?

Ficus is one of those indoor plants that are quite popular due to their decorative qualities and ease of care.

However, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh says: the flower is not as harmless as it seems.

Moreover, the danger comes not only from the standpoint of superstition, but also from a biological point of view.

Thus, researchers draw attention to the fact that the white juice secreted from the ficus is dangerous to humans.

If a leaf or piece of stem becomes part of the diet of a pet or a small child, which, unfortunately, happens quite often, it may well lead to poisoning.

Even a simple, seemingly unsafe, contact of juice with the skin is unavoidable - in this case, a burn cannot be avoided.

If we talk about popular beliefs, then the opinion about the ficus is twofold.

On the one hand, it is believed that the plant is able to attract prosperity to the home and even influences the addition of new members to the family.

On the other hand, the ficus is nicknamed the husband-killer, which is a magnet for trouble and is capable of destroying peace in the house.
