Slugs reproduce quite quickly. One individual can leave up to 50 eggs. And if adult gastropods chronically do not tolerate frost, then the eggs are not afraid of even severe cold.

And if parasites make themselves known in the greenhouse in the spring, urgent measures must be taken.

How to get rid of slugs in a greenhouse

If the structure allows, it will be easier to move it to another place. This way, you can definitely protect the harvest from the attacks of these oafs.

Adults will appear with the first spring greenery, and offspring will not be long in coming either.

The best option at the beginning of the summer cottage season in case moving the greenhouse results in new serious problems is the following.

1. First of all, in early spring, pour the soil in the greenhouse with water at 60-80 degrees Celsius. This will destroy adult representatives that have settled to a depth of 20 cm.

2. Next, you can treat the soil with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution or use table vinegar - 0.5 liters per 10 liters of water.

3. To secure them, place leaves or other aromatic traps with syrup or kvass in the greenhouse, then collect the slugs that have gathered and destroy them.

If plants have already been planted in the greenhouse, then to protect against pests, the soil around them should be sprinkled with crushed nut or egg shells. Broken river shells are also used.

Slugs are very sensitive to such surfaces and therefore will not be able to harm cultivated plants.
