What to Plant in a Compost Heap

1. The ideal option is pumpkin. The fruits will be weighty, aromatic, and tasty. At the same time, large pumpkin leaves will protect the ripening fertilizer from drying out, and the roots will loosen the future compost.

2. Planting zucchini will be no less effective. They also retain their varietal and taste qualities, the roots help the fertilizer ripen, and the mixture does not become less nutritious due to the growth of vegetables.

3. Watermelons and melons will not grow the largest, but the taste will be excellent. An option suitable for those who are used to choosing between taste and size.

4. Onions and greens. Not only pumpkin and melon crops are planted. Small greens and onions grow well, which turn out large and juicy.

5. You can also plant squash and cucumbers, which will delight you with a harvest on the compost heap thanks to the abundance of nutrients.

And the last thing that can be planted in this place is cabbage, but you will have to add 1 teaspoon of calcium nitrate to the hole when planting the seedlings.
