How to Grow Zucchini on a Compost Heap: Early and Abundant Harvest Guaranteed
As you know, the main condition that must be met for the successful cultivation of zucchini is to provide them with fertile soil.
The entire complex of nutrients can be found in a compost heap. However, there is another option to provide nutrition and warm soil - to equip a "warm" bed in the garden.
If you are thinking about trying this method of growing, remember: the “warm” bed should be prepared in the fall, and the compost heap should be prepared 2-3 weeks before planting.
In the latter case, you will need to add a 20 cm layer of garden soil, which should be watered so that the soil settles faster.
For sowing in such conditions, choose bush squash seeds - the compact crop will not take up much space.
To harvest as early as possible, you will have to resort to the seedling method.
Don't forget to treat the seeds with a solution of "Fitosporin" prepared from 5-7 drops of the mother solution and 100 ml of water. Dip cotton pads into the resulting mixture and spread the seeds on them.
Experienced gardeners plant sprouts in 0.5 liter plastic cups. If you plant seeds in mid-April, in early May, when the seedlings are 25 days old, they can be transplanted to a prepared place.
To do this, make holes at a distance of 80-100 cm from each other and water them with a solution of "Fitosporin". In this case, you will need 1 tablespoon of the mother solution per 10 liters of water.
All that remains is to water the plantings with warm water, and if it’s cold outside, it wouldn’t hurt to cover them with 5-liter plastic bottles cut in half.
