In spring, insects attack fruit trees: they damage the bark, leaves, and hatch larvae, which also damage the plantings.

Ants, aphids, weevils and other pests can cause a lot of trouble for a summer resident.

However, experienced gardeners do not wait until a real problem arises. They carry out preventive measures that help protect trees.

Whitewashing is considered a popular method. Special solutions are prepared, which, as a bonus, contain antifungal drugs.

If you don’t want to bother with whitewashing, gardeners make a trapping belt out of film, rags or burlap.

How to make a trapping belt

To do this, take any material and cut it so that the width is 25 cm. The length should be enough to encircle the trunk.

The resulting belt is tied to the tree 15-25 cm above the base. The fabric is completely covered with resin, tar or special glue against insects. The belt should be changed as pests stick, but at least once a month.
