Why does apple tree bark crack: a mistake was made during planting

Gardeners often face a problem in the spring: dangerous cracks form on the apple tree trunk.
Such a defect can seriously scare even experienced summer residents. The problem has several causes, which it is better to know about in advance.
Southern variety
Sometimes varieties intended for southern latitudes end up on a gardener's plot. Such trees have a short dormant period.
The slightest thaw is characterized by the start of sap flow and the appearance of buds. But sometimes frosts return, so the tree gets seriously injured, even to the point of death.
Incorrect landing
The problem may arise if, when planting, the above-ground part of the trunk is at least 2-3 cm in the ground. In this case, the bark begins to rot.
The tree directs all its resources to healing, so normal development begins only by midsummer. Healthy plants can already prepare for winter at this time.
As a result, the tree is not prepared for the approaching cold weather. When frost sets in, the bark cracks.
