Thuja is popular with many summer residents who plant this evergreen tree in their garden plots.
In order for the plant to acquire a truly beautiful appearance and become a real decoration of the garden, it must be properly cared for.
You won't be able to plant a thuja anywhere you want. The tree needs a site that is in the shade at midday.
In addition, the location should be protected from drafts and moisture accumulation after melting snow or rain.
Thuja with an open root system is planted in April, and with a closed root system - at the end of September (3-4 weeks before frost).
The planting hole is made 15-20 cm deeper than the length of the root system. This space is filled with river sand. The diameter of the hole is 30-40 cm wider than the root system.
The soil for thuja is mixed from ordinary soil (40%), dry river sand (20%) and peat (40%).
