As you know, the pear does not require special care, but some activities have not been cancelled.

In particular, we are talking about pruning. The expert of the online publication "Belnovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared the secrets of how to properly organize this process.

Tree pruning should be done twice a year – in the fall and with the onset of spring.

In autumn, it is worth removing dry shoots, as well as those on which signs of disease were found. Diseased branches are cut from the place where the disease began.

The purpose of spring pruning is to shape the crown.

If you notice that several shoots are growing in one place, some of them should be removed to avoid competition. The same procedure is applied to shoots growing downwards or to the side.

Since spring is just around the corner, today we will talk about a procedure that is carried out at this time of year.

In the first year of the tree's life, in the spring, it is worth pinching the one-year shoot.

In the second year, shorten the replacement branches, and in the third, shorten the annual shoots on which new annual growths are formed.

Finally, in the spring of the fourth year of life, completely remove the 3-year-old branches that have borne fruit “to the ring” and shorten one of the replacement shoots.
