The berries of a raspberry bush dry up for various reasons. This may be due to insufficient agricultural care, damage by fungal or viral diseases.

It is better to immediately focus on the main signs of raspberry disease.

Viral chlorosis

With viral chlorosis, there is a disruption in the formation of chlorophyll in plant leaves, which reduces photosynthesis. With "normal" chlorosis, due to bad weather and a lack of useful elements, the leaves turn yellow and wither.

When infected with infectious viral chlorosis, raspberries are also affected.

They do not have time to gain juice and color and dry up immediately. Mites and aphids are the main carriers of this virus, and infection also occurs during vaccination.

Combating raspberry chlorosis

Non-infectious chlorosis: add the necessary nutrients to the soil. There is no point in fighting infectious chlorosis - you need to destroy the diseased plants by burning.

Prevention

When planting a plot of land for raspberries, you need to purchase varieties that are resistant to infectious chlorosis: "Kornuelskaya", "Kolkhoznitsa" and "Victoria".

Also regularly destroy ticks and aphids: "Fufanon-Nova" and "Inta-Vir".

Mosaic

With this disease, the pigmentation of raspberry leaves and other parts of the plant is disrupted, and the berries subsequently dry up. With severe damage, a convex area appears on the leaves, they become thinner, deformed, smaller and dry out.

This virus is spread by mites and aphids. Infection also occurs through the tool during grafting.

Fighting raspberry mosaic

Viral mosaic is not curable, so diseased bushes should be removed from the site along with the roots. Healthy raspberry seedlings should be planted in place of the removed plants and the plants should be treated with Pentafag for harmful insects every 8-12 days.

Verticillium wilt

Verticillium wilt is a very dangerous fungus. It is found in the soil, affects young shoots, damaged roots and root areas. If the raspberry leaves become dull, yellow and wilted, then the bark begins to crack, and the berries become tasteless and dry out - this is a sign of raspberry infection with this fungus.

Infection occurs when the soil is excessively moist. At this time, the fungus actively reproduces, especially with sharp fluctuations in night and day temperatures.

Control of Verticillium wilt in raspberries

• Plant healthy raspberry seedlings.
• Observe the crop rotation schedule.
• Do not plant seedlings in infected areas.

In case of minor infestation, treat with the following fungicides: "Vitaros", "Fitosporin-M", "Previkur Energy", "Trichodermin". In case of severe infestation, plants should be destroyed.

Curly

Raspberry leaf curl is a viral disease. This disease can be identified by thickening and shortening of stems, small curled leaves and dried berries. Carriers of this virus are also mites and aphids. They are also infected from the tool during grafting.

Fighting raspberry leaf curl

Nothing will save the raspberry from the disease, it will have to be destroyed and burned. It is necessary to regularly treat it against aphids with such solutions: "Abiga-Peak", "Skor", "Fufanon-Nova".
