Why garlic becomes smaller: the main reasons for a poor harvest

Winter garlic can be found in almost every garden. The reason for this is the good harvest and shelf life of the bulbs.

However, no summer resident is immune from garlic crushing. The main reasons were described by the expert of the online publication "Belnovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

Thus, a disastrous result can be obtained due to improper planting – the appropriate time is the period from September to October.

In this case, you should lower the cloves into the ground at a distance of 20*15 or 20*20 cm – of course, if you want the bulb to grow large.

And the choice of planting material should be approached with full responsibility - the garlic cloves selected for this purpose should be large.

Don't forget to renew the planting material every three years. You can do this by planting bulblets in the fall or buying new garlic bulbs.

Remember: you won’t get a good harvest if the crop grows in the shade or where water stagnates.

In addition to its love for light, garlic can boast a passion for watering - if there is not enough moisture in the soil, the garlic will turn out small. But it is not worth over-watering (see the point above).

Finally, a disastrous result can occur if the garlic lacks nutrients – nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
