How to determine the moment
The orchid will give a signal when it needs to be repotted. At this point, it will start to shed its leaves or stop growing upwards.
If at least one of these signs is present, then you need to check what is happening inside the pot. Most likely, the orchid will need to renew the soil and remove dead parts of the rhizome.
Tangled roots clearly indicate the need. If they are also soft to the touch, then you need to urgently prepare new soil for the orchid.
If you ignore the plant's signals for a long time, you should not count on abundant flowering. The sooner you replant the orchid, the better.
